Pool closing
& winterizing.
Get the pool ready for the off-season before the weather decides for you. Watermark Pools closes and winterizes inground and above-ground pools across Memphis and the Mid-South, and installs the covers that keep them safe until spring.

AWhat a closing covers
Shut down
properly.
Every pool is a little different, so we talk through yours: the pool, the equipment and the cover. In general, a closing works through these steps.
Clean & balance
Debris out, water brushed and balanced so it goes into winter in good shape.
Set the water level
Lowered where the pool and cover type call for it.
Clear the lines
Plumbing blown out and plugged so standing water can't freeze and crack it.
Winterize equipment
Pump, filter and other equipment drained and prepared for the cold.

BCovers
Safety cover
or winter cover.
Both keep leaves and debris out over the winter. They are not the same thing, and the difference matters if you have kids or pets.

- Safety cover
Anchored & taut
Strapped tight to anchors set in the deck. Built to keep a person or pet from going into the water. Mesh lets rain drain through, so water doesn't pool on top.
- Winter cover
Keeps the water clean
A solid cover that blocks sunlight and debris. It is not a safety barrier, and rainwater collects on it and needs to be managed.
- Our role
Install & repair
We install swimming pool safety covers and repair covers. Not sure which one your pool has, or needs? Send a photo.
CWhy not wait
It only takes one hard freeze.
Mid-South winters are mild most of the time. That's exactly why people put off closing, and why the first real freeze catches pools with water still sitting in the lines and the pump.
Frozen water expands. In plumbing and equipment, that means cracked pipes, split housings and a spring repair bill that costs more than the closing would have. Closing early also means you get on the schedule before the fall rush, not after it.

EClosing questions
Closing FAQ.
When should I schedule my pool closing?
As swimming season winds down. Call early to discuss timing and availability instead of waiting until cold weather arrives and the schedule fills up.
Do you close above-ground pools?
Yes. Watermark Pools closes both inground and above-ground pools.
Can you install a safety cover on my pool?
Swimming pool safety cover installation is one of our services. Call or text with a photo of your pool and deck and we'll talk through it.
Do you also open pools in the spring?
Call (901) 560-7665 and ask about spring service for your pool. If something broke over the winter, we handle pool repair and equipment too.
